BEHIND THE BRAND: MY BIRTHDAY REFLECTIONS ON GROWTH, GRACE + GOING BIGGER
Jul 09, 2025
I look up into the night sky as it lights up with fireworks, I watch from the most gorgeous Lake House in California with a number of close friends celebrating my birthday alongside the rest of the USA (well they’re technically celebrating the 4th of July - but I’m pretending it’s all for me haha)... and my heart couldn’t be more full.
I love the fact my birthday is in the middle of the year, as it brings in the perfect time for reflection - what has happened so far, and where do I want to be more intentional moving forward. And honestly this year I feel like it has been unbelievably transformative, but in a far different way than previous years.
In the past transformative has meant deeeeeeeep healing, trials and tribulations, periods of being shaken to my core. But this year has been different. The intentionality and trust has been on an entirely different level and it feels like my focus has been shifted - transformation has looked like my nervous system being regulated to hold capacity for ALL OF IT. The lessons that I have been learning come almost full circle - to the point I’m having breakthroughs (that whilst in hindsight have been painstakingly obvious), are also showing up in divine timing and alignment.
My birthday is a really special time for me, not just personally, but for SHWellness too. July was the month my business was born - and this year we are celebrating 9 years (and me being in the industry for 10 years)!
10 FREAKEN YEARS!!! Of helping, healing, empowering, supporting and transforming lives across the globe!!
It’s hard for me not to get emotional (I am a double cancer after all), but to witness and be blessed enough to be part of so many lives - hormones balanced, babies born, confidence created, long term conditions healed and sustained, energy reborn, deep inner shifts, careers supported, relationships blossomed… all as part of the work I am so grateful to get to do every day.
I am eternally thankful for you - reading this - yes you - because without you being here, I wouldn’t have anyone to show up for. So thank you, for allowing me to be part of your journey - in whatever capacity that has been. You are what makes SHWellness so special and allows me to continue to help impact so many lives.
It’s funny, because it’s so easy to look in from the outside at anyone’s journey and think ‘oh she has it so good’ or ‘she’s so lucky’. But what they don’t see is the tears cried, the village of support she has behind her, the growth and determination it took to get up every single time you fall down. All we see is the highlight reel - which is why I am the biggest advocate for getting off the comparison train.
If you knew the beautiful, unique, incredible soul you were and could see yourself the way others see you, you wouldn’t be so hard on yourself, you would give yourself more grace, you would see that YOU in all your magic are exactly as God created you and are blessed to have the gifts you’ve been given.
So as I write this, my heart explodes with immense joy - and a few key learnings I want to share with you:
- You cannot (and are never) doing this life alone: I meant it when I said it takes a village. I mean right now, I am back living with my best friend and her husband in LA (who’s generosity is out of this world), I have the most amazingly supportive Mother + Brother back home who are my rocks and have always been my biggest cheerleaders in achieving my dreams, even if I am far away from them.
My community of clients who continue to show up and do the work, share and support each other and give me purpose and the ability to grow and expand so I can show up as the best coach I can be. My network of friends across the globe that always have my back - the sisterhood I have created are such a huge blessing in my life.
And of course my spiritual connection - whatever your belief set is, knowing you have a connection/relationship with a higher power - God/Source/Universe - has been one of the most deeply transformative experiences in terms of trusting life to work out for me above all else. So often when we are so driven and ambitious, we are busy looking out at what’s next, and what we don’t see is the gifts and blessings and support that is right behind us - that have been there the entire way. So please know, you are never alone and receiving help is what we all need to grow, love and expand. - Do the work - recalibrate - elevate - then keep doing the work: it can be so challenging to keep showing up when things get tough, and there are always going to be new lessons, because we are never meant to stop growing. But… the more self-awareness you develop and become attuned to, the easier it becomes to manage your mind, handle the setbacks and even hold your energy and life to a whole new standard.
I don’t believe that life has to be hard - it’s not something I buy into. Life has challenges, but it is up to us in how we handle them; with grace and integrity, or do we lean into the victimhood.
Once I shifted this mentality, everything aligned for me so much easier. I still have days that I find this challenging, but for the most part I’m able to be in a proactive vs reactive mindset no matter what is thrown my way and this allows me to walk through life and hold myself in a completely different manner - I see it happen with my clients and friends and how much their lives change when we take personal responsibility always (no matter how challenging it may be). - Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams: it’s scary - all the what if’s come up, all the fears, all the doubts. But what’s more scary… the dreams you chased and potentially failed at, or looking back on a life where you played it safe?
Research consistently shows that when people reach the end of their lives, they don’t regret the mistakes—they regret the chances they didn’t take. The dreams they shelved. The risks they were too afraid to lean into.
Psychologists call this regret of inaction, and it’s proven to linger far longer than regret over actions taken—even if they didn’t go perfectly. Because at the end of the day, what haunts us isn’t failure—it’s unexpressed potential.
So go out there, take the risk (even if it has to be slower than you’d like), because what better time is there than now? What are you waiting for? What if it all worked out?
I wouldn’t be typing this in a cafe in Los Angeles sitting next to my best friend sipping a specialty latte with a heart full of gratitude if I hadn’t taken the leap. Do I know what’s coming? No. Do I know all my big, wild, overly ambitious dreams are going to come true… YES. I can’t guarantee they will unfold exactly as I have planned them, but I know that my path will continue to light up because I keep showing up and saying YES to life.
So… if you’re in a season of life that feels like a reinvention, or been feeling the pull to dive deeper, this is your sign. Pause, give yourself grace and then align with the dreams you wanna chase, because honey, they are possible, you are capable of anything you set your mind to and even if you don’t believe in yourself right now, know that I believe in you.
My word this year was fearless and I am in a constant state of reflection to see if I really am living this out. What was your word? Where can you realign to your goals and dreams and ambitions? Where are you happy and what are you grateful for?
I hope this inspires you to dig a little deeper and trust life <3
You’ve got this!
All my love,
Sheree xo
